Peter Roebbelen, M.Sc., M.Div.
Pastor

Peter is a pastor/teacher who brings Godly counsel to the challenges of everyday life. He has a heart for the hurting, for the marginalized and for those who have yet to hear that Jesus loves them. Peter loves the local church, especially when it’s fully engaged in the coming of God’s kingdom here on earth. Peter also has a vision for missional ministry that begins in Oakville and stretches around the world. In his role as The Sanctuary’s Lead Pastor, Peter provides visionary leadership for its people and pastoral staff. Peter has come to us after twenty fruitful years of pastoral ministry at Chartwell Baptist Church. A long, long time ago, Peter was a research scientist with the Ministry of Natural Resources. Being a pastor was not his idea.

Peter is married to Sharon and together they have two university-aged daughters, Erica and Julia. Peter enjoys golfing, reading, sailing and warm weather vacations... none of which occur frequently enough for his liking.

my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus — the work of telling others the good news about God’s wonderful kindness and love. (Acts 20:24)
